The most common sizing scale in men’s jeans runs as 30-31-32, and so on. Pattern grading is based on a 2.5 cm (1 inch) difference in total waist circumference between each size, which equals 1.25 cm for the half-waist measurement. Other dimensions are adjusted accordingly to maintain the overall fit and silhouette of the pants. The inseam length can always be customized based on customer preference.
However, a size 32 may not have the exact same measurements across every pair of jeans. This depends heavily on where the pants sit on the body, with rise styles—such as high waist or low waist—being the primary factors behind these variations.
While shorter inseams are preferred in southern countries, inseams 5–10 cm longer are favored in northern countries.
