Sample Cost

Producing an average sample takes 2–3 weeks.

Pricing:

Standard trouser: around €120
Same pattern, two different colours: around €210
Complex model (like in the photo below): €350–400, with half refunded against production
High fashion / technically demanding styles: around €1,000, again with roughly half refunded at production stage — for first-time clients only

For clients we work with regularly, we don’t charge for samples at all. Some customers get 20–30 samples a year from us, completely free.

In general, we spend more than we charge on samples. If we think a better alternative exists, we’ll sometimes make it and send it over without being asked. We just want to do good work.

Some 20-25 years ago, there was no such thing as charging for samples. Nobody would even ask for it, and if anyone did, they would be looked down upon. This is entirely due to the shrinking global economy.
