Cotton can be organic, but it’s exposed to a lot of chemicals during the process of turning it into denim fabric. The same goes for industrial washing — the jeans are again exposed to a lot of chemicals during that process. After all that processing, I’m not sure organic cotton still means much. But some customers insist on it, so we use it for them. The fabrics come with certifications.

Where the cotton comes from matters, but I don’t believe organic cotton itself is that important. I can guess which country a pair of jeans was made in just from a photo. And I don’t believe anyone — including us — could tell organic from regular cotton just by touching the fabric.
